Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah

Managing Director
Smart Selangor Delivery Unit

Dr Fahmi Ngah is the Managing Director for the Smart Selangor Delivery Unit and co-developer of the Smart Waste Management Program, which received the Best Waste Management Service Award in Malaysia from Frost & Sullivan in July 2018.

Previously he served as Senior Technology Consultant for aerostructures and computational probabilistic methods at the United Kingdom Defence Research Agency, where he led several European Aerospace Research Programs on behalf of the UK Defence and Science Technology Laboratory.

Dr Fahmi also worked in the corporate sector as Front Office Senior Quant at British Energy and Electricite de France Energy, and Head of Commodity Trading and Structuring at CIMB Investment Bank Malaysia where he was in charge of managing commodity corporate clients in the Southeast Asia region. Dr Fahmi holds a first class honours degree in engineering and a doctorate in Aeronautics from Imperial College, London. He was recipient of the Perdana Scholarship and the Tun Ismail Ali award for best United Kingdom graduate from the British Malaysian Society.

Futoshi Kuroki received the associate B.E. degree in electrical engineering from Kure National College of Technology, Japan, in 1980, the B.E. degree in electronics engineering from Kyusyu Institute of Technology, Japan, in 1982, and the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical communication engineering from Tohoku University, Japan, in 1984 and 1987, respectively. He has been with National Institute of Technology, Kure College, Hiroshima, Japan, where he is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. He has been engaged in research work on electromagnetic devices, circuits, antennas, and systems.

Prof. Kuroki is a member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineering (IEICE) in Japan, a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineering (IEEJ) in Japan, and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in USA.

1. Dr.Zaki, Media Prima TV3

Ahmad Zaki Mohd Salleh was born in Pahang, Malaysia.  He received his B.Sc. Engineering (Hons.) from University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1989 and Ph.D in Engineering in 1994. In 2005, he obtained an executive MBA in International Marketing from Bern University of Applied Science, Switzerland. He served as a lecturer between 1994 until 1996 in the Department of Electronics & Communications Engineering, University Putra, Malaysia.  He also served as an engineer with Globecom Research Sdn Bhd in 1995 until 1996.

In July 1996, he joined Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad (or better known as TV3) as an Assistant Manager, Transmission Development and Projects.  In 2005, he served as the General Manager, Engineering for Natseven TV Sdn Bhd (ntv7).  In 2007, he was seconded to Primedia Inc., Philippines as a part of Media Prima’s international venture.  He returned to Malaysia in December 2009 and today, he is the Director, Technical Operations, TV Networks, Media Prima Berhad.

Dr Zaki has been actively involved with the national committees for the development of Digital TV standards in Malaysia.  He chaired the 1st sub-committee in 1997 (WG7) under the ITU (International Telecommunications Union), Malaysian chapter for the recommendation of the Digital TV standards to the Malaysian Government.  The recommendation for the implementation of DVB-T was later adopted by Malaysia as the national Digital TV standard. He has presented many papers in International Forums and Conferences namely in the areas of ICT, Broadcasting, Multimedia and Management.

Upon the formation of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, he continued his service as a member of the various committees under the MCMC.  He is currently the chairman of the Digital TV Committee, Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Berhad (MTSFB). In 2017, Dr Zaki was the recipient of the ‘Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union’ (ABU) Engineering Industry Excellence Award which was presented during the General Assembly in Chengdu, China.


2. Mr Azrin Aris

Business Technology, TM ONE
An experienced technologist, Azrin’s current muse include IOT, smart cities, LoRa and discovering more ways for technology to improve our everyday lives. Has been with TM since 1997 in various capacities, including 16 years in research & development focusing on ICT industry. Published numerous papers from 1996 to 2018. Successfully commercialized research outcomes that contributed more than RM10 mil to TMR&D revenue. Within the telecommunication, ICT and IOT industry, Azrin is also widely recognized as a subject matter expert. He is a member of the LoraWan Alliance as a contributor in the Strategy & Technical Group. 
 
All these are testament to his technical prowess, both in conventional as well as avant garde ICT and telecommunication technologies. Capitalizing on this, TM later entrusted Azrin as the CTO of VADS Lyfe Sdn Bhd that focused on smart cities and smart services. That 3 year stint prepped him for his subsequent role, which is to head the team that develops and manages TM’s smart services products. 
 
Azrin currently heads the Product Division of TM ONE, to develop ICT and IOT products for TM’s Government and Medium / Large Enterprise customers. Azrin has an M.Sc. in Business Leadership from University of Northumbria at Newcastle, an M.Sc. in Electrical & Electronics (Computer Engineering) from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a B.Eng in Electrical & Electronics (Telecommunications) from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
