ABOUT

Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB) welcomes you to attend the Congress on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security (COSAFS2020) on October 13 to 15, 2020 Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia. COSAFS2020 provides a forum to learn about sustainable farming techniques, innovation and technology, community food systems, national and global food policies, and any program that promotes sustainable agriculture and food security. Moreover, this event will provide producers, researchers, consumers, organizations, institutions, corporate bodies, and communities, the opportunity to strengthen alliances towards, achieving sustainable agriculture or for some, becoming the net food exporter i.e. Sarawak by the year 2030.

 

COSAFS2020 is an umbrella of three concurrent international conferences namely, International Scientific Conference on Indigenous Crops 2020 (ISCIC2020), International Conference on Fisheries and Animal Sciences 2020 (FISAS2020) and International Conference on Food and Industrial Crops 2020 (ICFIC2020). ISCIC2020, which is the second edition since its debut in 2018 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia will focus on recognising the potential of indigenous plants as cultivated crops via sustainable management. FISAS 2020 will address pressing issues on fishery and livestock for sustainable development with a focus on production, research, and conservation. ICFIC2020 will focus on the sustainable development of food and industrial crops in Malaysia and around the globe, concerning both crop-oriented and bio-based materials. These conferences anticipate more than 300 participants among academics, research scientists, policy makers, officials from public and private sectors with thought provoking keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations in the field of sustainable agriculture and food security.

 

Objectives

  1. To highlight global food security and natural resource sustainability particularly in indigenous plants and emerging/future crops, fishery and livestock, and food and industrial crops.
  2. To provide a platform to exchange knowledge between conference participants, identify and promote solutions for the development of sustainable agriculture and food security.
  3. To promote and strengthen international and national collaborations in sustainable agriculture and food security.
