(A greeting in Kelabit which means ‘Welcome everyone!’)

The 3rd International Conference on Science, Social Sciences, and Humanities (ICOSSH 2023), organized by the Faculty of Humanities, Management, and Science at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus Sarawak (UPMKB), is a continuation of ICOSSH 2021, which successfully brought together researchers from within and outside the country. This year, conference participants can engage with one another through physical and virtual presentations. The conference focuses on the fields of science, social sciences, and humanities, particularly as they pertain to the Sarawak and Borneo ethnic groups. Participants and audiences include researchers, academics, postgraduate students, government agencies, and policymakers. Additionally, the conference focuses on the impact of the conference, which includes forming networks with the state government, local and international research agencies, and industries that are actively engaged in the field.

The theme for ICOSSH 2023 is 'Towards a Culture of Sustainability in Borneo'. The conference covers topics of interest within science, social sciences, and humanities. However, the topics are not restricted in that they may take a multidisciplinary approach, combining to a varying degree two or more domains, namely, mathematics, engineering, technology, culture, language, literature, politics, history, religion, economics, management, psychology, education, and other related fields. The papers are presented by authors from Asian nations such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, and China in either English or Malay language. Additionally, presentations of the Pehin Sri Adenan Satem Chair Scholarship and MTCP Scholarship will also take place at the ICOSSH 2023 opening ceremony.

We look forward to meeting you on September, 26th-27th, 2023.
