INTRODUCTION
The International Conference of Forest Resources Management 2021 (forres2021) will be jointly hosted by the Forest Department Sarawak, Malaysia and Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus, Malaysia from 1 to 2 December 2021 in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia. This conference is a platform for foresters, and all those with an interest in the forestry and environment sectors to exchange knowledge and share experiences in managing tropical forest resources.
The forres2021 will provide an opportunity for participants to discuss the future direction of forestry especially the situation in the tropics in the context of current COVID-19 pandemic while at the same time striving to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals outlined by the United Nation.
We expect this conference to engage participants regardless of their professional affiliation including the public and private sectors, environmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, scientific bodies and forestry societies in discussing the best practices forest resources management in view with the current global scenario.
The forres2021 will be a hybrid conference, combining an in-person conference experience with a virtual module. Local Malaysians that are able to travel will be allowed to attend the conference in person, subject to standard of procedure enforced at the time. Those participants from outside Malaysia will have to join the conference via virtual platform as currently travel restriction is still enforced.
