DAY 2 OF CULTURAL VISIT
Our second day of cultural visit will be continued in the area around Kuala Lumpur. The first destination was Thean Hou Temple. The temple has its own unique architecture and we were lucky enough to see a few couples of bride and groom to be married.
We also visited the National Mosque of Malaysia and managed to hear a simple briefing about God and the creation of the universe. The mosque was completely built in 1965 and it has a bold and modern approach in reinforced concrete which accounts as symbolic of the aspirations of a newly independent nation.
Along the way, we got a chance to drop by at the National Monument of Malaysia which commemorates the struggle of national heroes fighting against colonialists of Japan during World War II and the Malayan Emergency. After that, we continued the visit by exploring Bukit Bintang, hunting for foods and famous restaurants.
Before calling it a day, we stopped at Kuala Lumpur City Centre, enjoyed the water fountain show and viewed the iconic tower in Malaysia. Excitement was clearly seen from the participants as they were so eager to see the beauty of KLCC during the night.
