INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

Innovation Showcase is a program that has been running since 2016 by the Educational Technology Unit and Master of Educational Technology students as a platform for students to showcase their innovative results. Starting in 2019, the Innovation Showcase program was placed under the PUTRA Future Classroom portfolio to scale up the program so that the culture of innovation can be widely spread and more students, especially those in courses that practice Project Based Learning and Project Oriented Problem Based Learning, can participate. Today, the concept of Hybrid Teaching and Learning has become popular in the academic environment and adds value to the cultivation of innovation and creativity in the delivery of education.

Anchored in the concepts of innovation and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Innovation Showcase 2026 highlights a range of cross-disciplinary innovations, with a specialization in education, focusing on students, educators, researchers, and innovators.

The Innovation Showcase 2026 program, which targets participation from undergraduate and postgraduate students, aims to expose students to innovations within the Education 4.0 landscape while fostering an innovative mindset. The program is also aligned with UPM’s Strategic Plan, which emphasizes impactful teaching and learning in strengthening the national innovation ecosystem, particularly in nurturing innovative human capital. In addition, the program supports the PUTRA Future Classroom and smart campus initiatives at UPM in terms of curriculum transformation and alternative assessment, aiming to produce holistic graduates with entrepreneurial skills who can integrate technology and innovation to enhance the learning experience.
