Introduction
Welcome Message
Welcome to the 14th International Leptospirosis Society (ILS 2026) Meeting, a global gathering of researchers, clinicians, public health professionals, veterinarians, and stakeholders dedicated to advancing our collective response to leptospirosis.
As one of the world’s most neglected yet widespread zoonotic diseases, leptospirosis poses significant scientific, clinical, and public health challenges. The ILS meeting serves as a vital platform for sharing the latest research, fostering collaborations across disciplines, and translating scientific knowledge into effective interventions and policies.
The 14th ILS Meeting brings together leading experts and emerging voices from across the globe to discuss a wide range of topics, including:
- Clinical leptospirosis and epidemiological trends
- Veterinary and zoonotic disease interfaces
- Environmental surveillance and early warning systems
- Leptospirosis in underserved and vulnerable populations
- Innovations in diagnostics and surveillance
- Advances in pathogenesis research
- One Health and community-based prevention strategies
Through keynote addresses, short talks, flash presentations and poster sessions, we aim to drive forward the global leptospirosis agenda and promote integrated, evidence-based approaches to its control and prevention.
We are proud to host the 14th ILS Meeting in Malaysia for the very first time, organised in collaboration between Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), the International Leptospirosis Society (ILS), and the Malaysian Leptospirosis Research Network (MyLepto). We warmly invite all participants to share their findings, build new collaborations, and work together toward reducing the burden of leptospirosis worldwide.
We also encourage you to take the opportunity to enjoy Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and hospitality. ILS 2026 coincides with Visit Malaysia 2026, a nationwide celebration of all that makes Malaysia Truly Asia. We hope your stay is both scientifically rewarding and culturally enriching.
