Introduction

In today’s rapidly evolving digital age, the development of high-quality knowledge resources—such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, and terminological systems—is more vital than ever. The Lexicography, Encyclopedia and Terminology International Seminar 2025 (LETS 2025) is conceived as a premier intellectual platform to bring together scholars, researchers, language professionals, and industry practitioners from Malaysia and around the world.

Carrying the theme “Preserving and Innovating Language in the Digital Era”, this seminar aims to provide a critical space for discussions on the challenges, opportunities, and innovations in the fields of lexicography, encyclopedic compilation, and terminology development in response to technological advancements and the needs of global communities.

Jointly organized by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) and the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), LETS 2025 is a key initiative to strengthen the global standing of the Malay language. It also aligns with the strategic goals of DBP and the aspirations of Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025, promoting regional intellectual cooperation through the sharing of knowledge and expertise.
